About this coffee

Colombia Dulima represents the classic cup profile of central and southern Huila, one of Colombia’s most renowned coffee regions. Fertile volcanic soils, high elevations, and varied microclimates create ideal conditions for coffees with bright acidity, sweetness, and excellent balance. Lots selected for this blend come from municipalities such as Pitalito, Garzón, Gigante, San Agustín, La Plata, Paicol, and Acevedo, chosen through rigorous sensory evaluation to maintain consistency across harvests.

Huila produces around 18% of Colombia’s coffee and is known for its smallholder farmers, who emphasize meticulous cultivation and often adopt innovative processing techniques. The region’s mountainous landscape and elevations ranging from 1,500 to 2,300 meters contribute to the clean, vibrant characteristics that define this blend.

Colombia Dulima is a vibrant, honey-sweet coffee that carries its citrus character beautifully through every roast level. At lighter profiles, it opens with a lively orange-marmalade quality layered over honeycomb sweetness, with hints of cherry and soft caramel rounding the cup. As the roast moves into medium, the acidity softens into a navel-orange brightness while deeper notes of toffee and praline emerge, giving the coffee a creamy, comforting center. Medium-dark roasts build on that praline richness, picking up tangerine and a touch of bittersweet chocolate for a balanced, dessert-like profile. Taken dark, Dulima becomes bold yet still refined, offering baker’s chocolate, candied orange peel, and dark brown sugar—proof that its sweetness and citrus depth remain intact even at fuller development.
